Australia has recently changed its requirements for foreign pilots who wish to fly in their beautiful country. CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority), Australia’s version of the FAA, have set forth the following list of information that they require to provide a temporary Certificate of Validation. The Certificate of Validation upon approval will be issued for a three month period only. For more information, CASA’s website is located at www.casa.gov.au/fcl/overbr.htm#validation. There is no requirement to pass an examination for the issue of a Certificate of Validation. All licenses and ratings will be checked with the applicant's home country aviation regulatory body. The list below is structured for US pilots. Most countries, except the U.K., will follow this list. For U.K. pilots, please click the above link for additional information regarding CAA authorization. Requirements to travel as Pilot in Command on one of our exciting tours are as follows:
The fee for issuance of CV is $260AUD. This fee is included in the price of your tour. (This fee as well as the $250AUD check ride fee will be deducted from the tour cost for non pilots). You will need to present your original documentation, numbers one (1) through four (4) as listed above, upon arrival at the CASA field office when you pick up your new Certificate of Validation. Please send copies of both the front and the back of your Notarized paperwork. Remember, non pilots are also welcome on our tours. You just don’t get bragging rights. |
